The 75th Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theatre in LA this year. The event was delayed to January because of the ongoing Writer’s Strike last year. It is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies that acknowledges excellence seen in the American Television Industry. With the Golden Globes Award just wrapped up, all eyes have been on the concurrent International Award shows where the red carpet looks are much-discussed.
This year we woke up to a series of noteworthy looks sported by some of the most popular faces in the American prime Time world and it did not disappoint. A lot of vintage fashion was spotted on the red carpet ranging from sweetheart necklines, big bows, ball gown silhouettes, tons of sequins, dramatic feathers and flattering lace work. Rewinding to cyclic fashion trends that never go out of style.

Here are our favourite looks from the best-dressed women at the event:
Meghann Fahy
Velvet was one of the most trending fabrics at this year’s Emmys. Meghann Fahy of The White Lotus and The Bold Type fame was a sight to behold as she arrived in a bodycon red gown with faux roses on the neckline. Her blonde mane was swept back and she kept the entire get-up minimal with diamond earrings, a bracelet and some rings. A dewy-toned makeup base complimented her look perfectly.
Jenny Ortega
The actress of Wednesday fame channelled her inner princess energy as she opted for an embroidered midi dress with a billowing bottom. The nude-hued gown had a caged silhouette that helped with the flouncy appeal while some pastel purple and green 3D floral designs were stitched all across the bodice. As for her beauty picks, she flaunted her freckles with a pinkish-nude makeup tone and a statement necklace.
Rachel Brosnahan
Our very own Marvellous Mrs. Maisel a.k.a Rachel Brosnahan looked incredible in a bodycon dress. The royal burgundy dress looked lovely on her svelte frame that came with a lacy corset fit around the midriff and the classic thigh-high slit. She completed her strappy dress look with poker-straight hair left loose and a mix of gold and silver earrings as her accessories.

Selena Gomez
It was all about the “sheer” pleasure for Selena Gomez as she stuck with a classic like a maroon and nude lace gown. The entire gown was studded with sequins and was accompanied by a scalloped neckline. She matched her maroon velvety bodycon number with a diamond and ruby necklace, studs and a head-turning matching lipstick.
Ellen Pompeo
The Grey’s Anatomy actress sure made heads turn in her sheer top with a gender-neutral touch that was the tie. She paired it with a black satin maxi skirt. A little messy hair tie and elegant diamond jewellery rounded up her look with utmost panache and looked very tastefully done. It was a semi-contemporary look that was one of the best at the event.
Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl brought in the much-needed pop of colour with her bright red bustier gown. There were some intricately embroidered applique structures around the cinched waistline. Speaking of the vintage style, the much-needed long train gown made an appearance that was just the drama we needed. Her hairstyle was a Hollywood classic too with the tight curls and the short bob hairdo. The red lips were the perfect finishing touch to it.
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian was all about being bold and beautiful in her black tuxedo jacket and lapel. She layered her lacy bralette with the oversized blazer and opted for matching gloves too. A jazzy pair of glasses, a pulled-back gelled hairdo and pointy heels completed her semi-formal attire effortlessly.
Kirsten Dunst
Burgundy seemed to be a hot favourite this year at the Emmys. Kirsten Dunst went for a playful chequered long maxi dress in the colour combination of blue and burgundy. A small train at the bottom of the gown looked just like the perfect balance. She added a royal touch to it with dainty pearl studs, red lips and a low bun around the neck.
Jessica Chastain
The actress brought in the much-needed neon fever with her bodycon sequin gown. The dress featured a plunging neckline, silver frills along the hemline and a smooth leather finish that gave off a shine. She left her golden brown hair loose with a pair of statement diamond and green emerald earrings that balanced out the bright colour of her ensemble.
Elizabeth Debicki
A regal burgundy velvet gown picked by Elizabeth Debicki of the Crown fame was timeless. The boat-shaped neckline and the low back with a drape-like finish. Though she kept her makeup minimal, she added a twist with peachy smokey eyes and dollops of mascara to make her eyes look brighter. She swept her long tresses on one side and went for just an ear cuff for accessories.
Jessica Williams
With several old Hollywood charms coming in, Jessica Williams went for an enchanting black and white gown. A black off-shoulder corset fit on top while there were frills on the bottom. What caught everyone’s attention were her rhinestone heels with cute bowties on both toes. She went for extremely dainty drop earrings and a perfectly curled raven black bob haircut.
Suki Waterhouse
The singer aced maternity fashion like a pro on the red carpet in a red gown! The top was a cut-out bodysuit with a big bow right below her baby bump. Eventually flowing into a flouncy skirt-like bottom with a long train. She went for a minimal beauty look sans jewellery and a cute bangs haircut.
Just like every year, the 75th Emmy Awards trended and how the best shows, performances and red carpet looks were discussed at length!
