Melo Movie is a bittersweet journey of healing through young love and big dreams.
Although it may seem initially sombre, the drama is actually a romantic comedy penned by Lee Na-eun best known for her work in Our Beloved Summer. The show is directed by Castaway Diva, Big Mouth, Start-Up and Hotel Del Luna's director Oh Choong-hwan.
Choi Woo-shik has been cast as Go Kyum, an actor who initially takes on small roles but later transitions into becoming a film critic. Go Kyum is deeply passionate about films and aspires to watch every movie ever made. His life takes an interesting turn when he encounters Kim Moo Bi, whose name resonates with "movie" and he becomes intrigued by her just as he is fascinated by the dynamics of romance in films.
Park Bo-young is set to portray the character of Kim Moo-bi, who ventures into the world of filmmaking out of curiosity stemming from her complex feelings towards her father, who prioritised films over her. Despite her desire for a peaceful life, she finds herself experiencing unexpected changes after crossing paths with Go Kyum, a larger-than-life individual.
Furthermore, Lee Jun-young is set to portray the character of a mysterious composer named Hong Si-joon, who takes pride in his genius abilities. On the other hand, Jeon So-nee will depict the role of Son Joo-ah, Hong Si-joon's ex-girlfriend and a scriptwriter.
