Manoj Bajpayee played the protagonist in this film and it is about tackling violence in the name of development. Dasru (Manoj Bajpayee) is a Naxalite who flees from his village in Jharkhand and struggles to make ends meet as a construction worker in Mumbai. He crosses paths with a woman from his village and that’s when he’s hit by another wave of violence. He puts up a convincing portrayal of a man who has to combat eternal suffering and hopelessness as a father of an infant daughter who seeks a little respite.
