Song Kang is preparing to entertain viewers with the second season of the popular post-apocalyptic series Sweet Home. As per a report by the Korean media outlet, the actor recently announced that this upcoming drama will be his last project before he begins his mandatory military service.
During the press conference of Sweet Home 2, Song Kang discussed his personal and professional development following his involvement in Sweet Home. He expressed that this project has played a significant role in shaping his identity. In order to prepare for the second season, he engaged in introspection and documented his thoughts and feelings about the character of Hyun Soo in a diary. As the storyline of Sweet Home revolves around supernatural beings, Song Kang also took into consideration the distinction between the fictional world and reality while reflecting on Hyun Soo's mindset and emotions.
During a discussion about the show, director Lee Eung-Bok praised actor Song Kang for his personal development and progress since their previous collaboration on the first season in 2020.
Song Kang acknowledged his upcoming military service and stated that Sweet Home 2 would probably be his final project before enlisting. He said, "It is my natural duty, so once I finish up promotion schedules for Sweet Home 2, I will fulfil my [mandatory] duties and return in good health."
Sweet Home 2 also stars Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si, Jung Jinyoung and others. It premieres worldwide on December 1 on OTT.
