Another prestigious year of the 77th British Academy Film and Television Arts Awards popularly known as the BAFTAs was held with much aplomb on February 18, 2024. Held at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the event honours the best of talents in National and Foreign films released in the previous year. With the EMMYs just behind us, BAFTAs were no different this year where Oppenheimer made a clean sweep bagging the maximum number of wins across several categories. The event was hosted by Scottish actor David Tenant for the first time and it was raining stars on the red carpet.
Dressed to the nines and staying abreast with the ongoing fashion trends, the Hollywood divas put their best fashion foot forward and did not disappoint. Amidst the sea of Hollywood stars was the stunning Deepika Padukone who was a presenter at the ceremony this year. Veering more towards the styles seen that were approved by the style nerds were a plethora of sequin ensembles, the risque thigh-high slit never going off the trend, a range of peach top maroon colour palettes, exaggerated sleeves, textured fabrics and corset midriff silhouettes - glamour powering through!

Phoebe Denver
Bringing in the eternal chicness of Hollywood glamour, Phoebe Denver of Bridgerton fame opted for a stunning white satin gown. It had a halter neck finish and plunging neckline for just a hint of drama. A small train at the hemline sealed her look perfectly. Minimal makeup and complementing diamond and silver jewellery were the finishing touches.
Naomi Campbell
Casting a mysterious spell with her all-black ensemble and the dramatic ruffles to add flair. The couture outfit came with a ruffled hooded cape that broke the monotony of the monochrome number. A golden embroidered belt-like fabric around the waistline was a stylish touch. A short bob hairdo with bangs and smokey-winged eyes completed her look flawlessly.
Charithra Chandran
The Asian lass of Bridgerton fame went for a blingy look with her vibrant sequin gown. This column dress came in an ombre red-orange palette accompanied by a sweetheart neckline. The dainty drop earrings and the most trending hairstyle of this year - a short bob added a jazzy touch to her red carpet ensemble.
Claire Foy
The Crown actress went for a soothing nude gown with a frilly top and the bottom half having a melange of lace, netting and lovely floral embroidery. She upped the glam quotient with bright red lips and subtle eyes to balance it out. Drop earrings and a short bob rounded off her look with utmost panache.
Daisy Edgar Jones
The stunning actress gave a twist to her sequin number. The rich maroon colour was an instant head-turner, she paired her mini-skirt with a matching long top featuring a plunging neckline and a tie-up detail at the centre of the midriff. Matching strappy heels and diamond danglers were her choice of footwear and accessories respectively.
Dua Lipa
A classic red gown can never go wrong and Dua Lipa is proof! This floor-length gown was a classic pick with a matching red cape to cascade down her shoulders and have a train of its own. Her statement-making fiery red hairdo complemented the entire get-up effortlessly.
Emily Blunt
The Oppenheimer actress had a cocktail of style trends working out for her perfectly. To begin with, it was a sheer skin-hued gown with a hint of metallic undertone. The cut-out silhouette under the midriff was a complete win. Batwing sleeves, a subtle hint of sequins studded across the bodice and a small train at the bottom made the entire look come together flawlessly. Her dramatic top bun and a statement necklace were the beauty picks for the event.
Emma Corrin
One of the most unconventional looks of the evening, Emma Corrin looked incredible in a black crop top with billowing sleeves paired with teal-hued tights. A sheer black fabric overlay at the bottom with two gigantic teal bows on either side was the surprise element of her look. She even went for a netted headgear and dainty studs that looked lovely with her pixie haircut.
Emma Stone
Emma Stone has quite the fan-following, the Bella chic opted for the dramatic sleeves trend as she went for a subtle orange gown with big sleeves on one side, beads lined up on either side and exquisite brocade work all across the fabric. The bottom of the gown had a more sheer look and the salmon-pinkish colour popped out. The beautiful diamond choker and messy bun looked fabulous with her attire.
Florence Pugh
Always being on the edgy side with her glam picks, Florence Pugh looked stunning in a black gown with a shimmery silver corset midriff. A matching stole to be wrapped around was her choice of accessory for the day. A long diamond necklace and the vampy makeup were perfect picks to complete her look.
Deepika Padukone
Riding high on her International glory, Deepika Padukone was grace personified in her white sequin saree. The body-hugging saree could only be carried with such elegance by the Indian actress. She went for a messy bun look, drop earrings and muted-tone makeup to make it effortlessly minimal.
Amy Jackson
Amy Jackson went for the corseted look with her pale silver gown. The top portion of their dress was heavily textured. The satin fabric from the waistline had a gathered finish and then eventually had a flowy look with a short train at the bottom. A sleek ponytail, drop earrings and matching sandals completed her look.
Emily Blunt
The Emily in Paris star rang in the big sleeves energy - an accumulated design of several white rose corsages to make the sleeves look dramatic. The 3D-sculpted floral pieces around the neckline looked elegant and added a twist to the all-black gown. Swept-back hair, statement diamond earrings and dark lips were the glam touches to her look.
Margot Robbie
Our Barbie has been the ultimate giver of style lessons with her larger-than-life Barbie Promotional tour. She did not disappoint at the BAFTAs this year either as she stuck to her pink colour palette combined with black strokes in a lovely column gown she sported at the event. The long black gloves took the glamour up a few notches. A neatly done bun and drop earrings complemented her look perfectly.
Rosamund Pike
She’s sure cast an eerie spell with her act in Gone Girl, but the talented actress looked right out of a fairytale in her BAFTAs look this year. Twirling in wearing a grey pleated dress, she added a twist with her skin-coloured corset beneath it. The simplicity of the look was a sure-shot winner.
Cate Blanchett
Ruling with all that elegance, Cate Blanchett went for a sultry deep red gown with structured shoulder pads and a harness. The long enveloping beaded necklace was the best jewellery pick for the look. Her short hairdo was a game-changer.
